Good location

We got a suite with terrace. It is very clean and spacious, quite at night, with a comfortable bed.Great location near a lot of nice hiking trails. Good breakfast.

The drains of the shower and sink are both backed up. Coffee maker didn’t work. Charged extra for parking.

Very neat and clean. Location is very good. Restaurant is extremely good but quite expensive.

Spa is available free of charge in neighbour hotel. But don’t have too much expectation about it. Too small and not well maintained.

The terrace suite is the nicest type of 'hotel room' that we ever had.

Use of the parking lot is not free.

Very clean big room with cozy beds in a great location (near village) and we could rent bikes from the hotel (15 euros for a day/ electric bikes 30 euros).

The windows on second floor are very high, parking is 9 euros per day (could be for free for clients).

Hotel rooms were actual some kind of studio / tiny-houses, but very big. It was very quiet. Nice location to go cycling. Very quiet beach within 2km from the hotel. Possibility to charge the electric car on the parking lot.

9€ per day for parking is a lot.

The all experience was great. I appreciate the possibility to plug my car, thanks a lot.

Maybe the towels can be better. For the French's, it's two beds and the pillows are really big !

Not enough shaving light, there is only 1 chair for 2 guests, bathroom isn't 100% finished (hotel newly opened, 5 months old), window too high for people 165cm +- to open or close.

Large grounds and good staff. Nicole and Vincent at reception were super. Large room and large restaurant and terrace. Ample parking.

Tv did not work. Despite being open for a few weeks, the buffet was not well organized. No cutlery and no salt/pepper at table. Food ran out. Too busy at buffet made one feel unsafe.

- Location! Right by the dunes - Bed and bedding was surprisingly comfy

- Checked in during dinner time whereas the check in desks were right by the kitchen. Chaotic and noisy, with 4-5 groups of guests waiting to pick up their dinner and kitchen staff asking what’s our room number, mistaken us as guests waiting for dinner pick up. - The front desk staff was either overwhelmed or just new but it was all very rush and she could hardly communicate in English. Maybe it was too noisy at check in... though what is the point of having the plastic shields when it was so hard to hear each other speak and we all ended up talking to each other through the gap?! Note: the staff checking us in or out DID NOT wear a mask, so I really don’t get it. - The welcome drinks were given as if a task to complete ASAP, so we had to stand there, in this chaotic scenario and down the drink... - Guests have to pick up all meals, and I did not see any trolleys... bear in mind it’s not a short walk to the suites nor hotel rooms (in a different building) and you have to walk outside! How do you expect people to cope when it rains 200+ days a year? Sure it’s Corona measures and probably going to be lifted soon but that’s just inconsiderate. - Could smell the renovation material in the bathroom, not pleasant, at all. - Basic toiletries, one hand wash and another shampoo+shower at the shower - Limited amenities, asked for cotton pad and slippers... no luck - Shower drain was clogged - Basic/budget material used in the decor throughout - The design details do not make sense, toilet rolls should have a proper holder and hand wash should not be sooooo high up and far from the sink - No hooks anywhere in the hallway nor in the bathroom - Lots of wasted space, why not have a proper wardrobe? - No fridge - Booked two nights at a deluxe double for €220+ per night including breakfast so I was really expecting a 4 star experience... Had it been charging us the normal €60-90 per night range or a slightly inflated price due to long weekend this would have okay.

New and modern Boutique Hotel with cozy rooms. Unfortunately it is more appearance than substance.

First of all I would like to point out that I am very sorry to give a bad review, because the location and friendly staff have so much more potential. But the circumstances during our stay were not good and price performance did not match our expectations. Overall the Ter Zand Boutique Hotel is a new and modern hotel. Cozy rooms, high ceilings, modern bathrooms. Nevertheless it's not all perfect. Cheap soap in the bathroom (other hotels in that price range offer Rituals or other high quality soaps), air conditioner with rattling noises (room 206), no TV and internet dropouts from time to time and no fridge/mini bar. Further, it takes a 20 minute walk to the beach. During our stay the hotel main building was blocked for the Kerkrade football team and we never received an information after our booking or before our arrival. Due to Covid rules of the Dutch football association other guests were not allowed to enter the hotel lobby, restaurant, etc. So all guests had breakfast in a tent nearby - in a tent! This would not have been a problem, if the hotel had informed the guests upfront and had offered a compensation (I.e. free breakfast). Last negative thing is the negative price performance which did not fit our expectations based on the topics mentioned above. You have to pay 19,50 Euros for breakfast per person per day but you get orange juice from a machine, scrambled egg from a tetra pack, no salmon or other fresh fish from the north sea, no Chocomel.. Further, you book a room for several nights and have to pay in addition 8 Euros per day for a parking space of your car - cheeky! Just include this in you prices! On top it seems that the hotel managers and employees have not understand the seriousness of the Covid situation. With an incidence of 400+ it should be insisted that employees and guests at least wear masks in public areas or wear one time gloves at the buffet.
